However, while many jacket makers make claims of waterproofness and breathability, a select few actually exert the time and money to test these claims. Not surprisingly, Castelli is one of these rare breeds, and its new Confronto Jacket proves just what a little obsessive TLC will do. To make the Confronto jacket your go-to for wet weather riding, Castelli constructed it from the Torrent 2L fabric. This material is completely waterproof, wind-resistant, and highly breathable. And while we're always hesitant to support claims of waterproofness and breathability, this material has a water column rating of 10000mm and a Moisture Vapor Perspiration (MVP) of 8000. Additionally, Castelli has also taped the critical seams of the jacket, included at the high collar, and installed a waterproof zipper in order to keep water from trickling in unexpectedly. For breathability, Castelli placed two large ventilation ports on the rear portion of the jacket.
