POC Hip VPD 2.0 Shorts POC Hip VPD 2.0 Shorts
POC VPD (Visco-Elastic Polymer Dough) makes wearing body armor feel like not wearing body armor, until you crash. Hip VPD 2. 0 shorts are actually liner shorts that you can wear under baggies, boardshorts, walkshorts, or even jeans to provide hardshell protection without the bulk or uncomfortable feel of hardshell armor. VPD is soft, low profile, and flexible until something hits it. Then it becomes a hard layer of protection instantly. That means the POC Hip VPD shorts are soft and flexible until impact, so they're completely comfortable all day. The stretchy, ventilated mesh that forms the main body of the shorts provides cooling airflow throughout, to keep you from burning up all day while you ride. VPD panels in the hip and tailbone regions protect the most common impact zones. POC even built a chamois into the Hip VPD shorts to ensure all-day pedaling comfort.

POC Joint VPD 2.0 DH Elbow Guard POC Joint VPD 2.0 DH Elbow Guard
POC designed the Joint VPD 2. 0 DH Elbow Guard to withstand just about any crash. The DH version uses the same incredible VPD material as the standard elbow pad, but adds a flexible hard shell cap to really crank up the protection level. The DH Elbow Guard provides all the safety of a big, burly hard shell pad, but VPD makes it lighter and more comfortable. This will probably be the first elbow pad that you won't hate wearing. Generally speaking, there are two types of body armor: soft, flexible armor that's designed to be comfortable and hard-shell armor that's designed to absorb huge impacts. As logic would dictate, the soft stuff doesn't protect as well and the hard stuff isn't as comfortable. Well, now there's a third kind of armor-POC VPD. As far as we can tell, it's magic. VPD is a soft, flexible foam material that conforms to the contours of your body. However, in the event of an impact, it hardens instantly to provide the protection of a hard shell. It truly is the best of both worlds. Not only that, but VPD is a true multi-impact armor, so the protection level during your 20th crash is the same as it was during your 1st. This is especially important because a fall can often involve several impacts. You don't want your protection level to drop off over the course of a fall, because that last hit might be the hardest. VPD is lightweight, soft, and flexible, so it's some of the most comfortable armor that we've tried. Another reason that VPD is so comfortable is efficient airflow. POC riddles its VPD material with vents so air flows freely in and out to keep your skin dry and cool, so you don't roast in the heat of the summer and get that nasty, clammy feeling under your pads. The main body of the elbow guard is abrasion-resistant Kevlar-reinforced stretch fabric. POC also uses a static Crash Retention Strap to keep the guard from slipping out of place. At the elbow itself, POC covers the VPD with a flexible hard shell cap to make the Joint VPD 2. 0 DH Elbo...

POC Joint VPD 2.0 DH Knee Guards POC Joint VPD 2.0 DH Knee Guards
Back in day, people used to rock football helmets and strap pillows around their legs to provide some protection on rowdy mountain-bike lines. Times change, though, and what used to be considered a gnarly line is a now a mellow cruise, so repurposed helmets and pillows just don't cut it anymore when it comes to protection. POC's Joint VPD 2. 0 DH Knee Guards are designed to keep up with the ever-rowdier trajectory of DH riding. Don't get the VPD 2. 0 DH confused with the regular VPD 2. 0. The DH version has the same stretchy neoprene sleeve and hook-and-loop closure strap, but it brings in a hard shell to provide extra protection and less friction against the ground, so you slide rather than shred if you fall onto your knees. Both pads also share the same VPD padding, which is soft and flexible until impact, at which point it hardens almost instantly to absorb the impact that your knees would otherwise take. The upshot' If you're planning on getting gnarly, the VPD 2. 0 DH pad is a good investment.

POC Joint VPD 2.0 DH Long Knee Guards POC Joint VPD 2.0 DH Long Knee Guards
Back when we were kids, people used to stick a batter's helmet on their heads and wrap some old carpet around their legs and call it bike padding. Times change, though, and what used to considered gnarly riding would now get you laughed off the children's pump track, so repurposed helmets and old rugs just don't cut it anymore when it comes to protection. POC's Joint VPD 2. 0 DH Long Knee Guards, though, are designed to keep up with the ever-rowdier trajectory of DH riding. Don't get the VPD 2. 0 DH Long confused with the regular VPD 2. 0, or the shorter VPD 2. 0 DH, though. The DH Long version has the same stretchy neoprene sleeve and hook-and-loop closure strap, but it brings in a hard shell to provide extra protection and less friction against the ground, so you slide rather than shred when you fall onto your knees and shins. Both VPD pads also share the same VPD padding, which is soft and flexible until impact, at which point it hardens almost instantly to absorb the impact that your knees would otherwise take, but the Long provides more shin protection, which you'll love if your legs look like hamburger meat after taking countless shots from pedals and rocks. The upshot' If you're planning on getting gnarly, the VPD 2. 0 DH Long Knee Guard is an investment your legs will thank you for making.

POC Joint VPD 2.0 Elbow Guard POC Joint VPD 2.0 Elbow Guard
It used to be that if you wanted real protection from boulders and trees, you were stuck with plastic-cap armor that you strapped onto your limbs with rough hook-and-loop straps. Needless to say, it wasn't the easiest to ride in, and it would chafe like crazy. Those times are long gone, thankfully, and the latest generation of armor, like the POC Joint VPD 2. 0 Elbow Guard, has arrived. VPD is a soft-until-you-hit-it armor that's flexible and easy to ride while wearing, but it hardens on impact to protect your bones from injury. And, in place of those horrible straps of old is a spandex sleeve that slides right up your arm, keeping the armor in place, wicking moisture, and not causing injury to your skin. You'll still find top and bottom straps, but they're reinforcements, instead of primary retention.

POC Joint VPD 2.0 Knee Guard POC Joint VPD 2.0 Knee Guard
Ripping down flowing singletrack and blistering downhill courses is stupidly fun, but it doesn't come without consequences when you bail off your bike or fall at high speeds. Engineered to soften the blow from crashes, the POC Joint VPD 2. 0 Knee Guard protects your knees from impact when you're trail riding and slaying downhill courses. The 3D-molded VPD foam stays pliable when you're riding, stiffening upon impact to absorb the punishment of crashes and trail mishaps. Its perforated design keeps you cool when you're riding, helping to prevent sweat build-up on hot summer rides. Plus, you'll find an elasticized hook-and-loop strap for a secure, adjustable fit. Note that these pads are slim enough to wear under your favorite trail shorts and riding pants.

POC Joint VPD 2.0 Shin Pads POC Joint VPD 2.0 Shin Pads
Riding without shin pads will leave you banged up, bruised, bloody, and will make passers-by wonder if you're walking around downtown with a gnarly case of leg leprosy, so the POC Joint VPD 2. 0 Shin Pads are really an investment in social decency. They're comfortable, too, courtesy of a stretchy inner sleeve and elastic hook-and-loop strap that keep your pads glued to your shins, rather than flapping around your ankles. And, of course, they'll keep your shins from getting shredded, with flexible VPD 2. 0 padding that's soft until impact, at which moment it hardens up to provide serious hard-shell protection with a pedal-friendly soft-shell feel. The outer fabric is reinforced with Kevlar to help fight off abrasion, and the shin pad is designed to interface with POC knee pads, if you're looking to really armor up.

POC Spine VPD 2.0 Vest POC Spine VPD 2.0 Vest
Body armor varies in style and intensity-level for every adventure sport -- each one offering protection specific for a single activity. Often, the intensity overshadows the practicality, and to make matters worse, it's only usable for a singular activity one season out of the year. If your idea of fun is considered terrifying by normal folk, put the POC Spine VPD 2. 0 Vest around your torso for multi-season protection. Enjoy a full freedom of movement while hucking off cliffs into powdery landings, or when speeding around obstacles at the terrain park. The Spine VPD Vest differs from other body armor with its visco-elastic polymer-dough (VPD) plate that conforms to the wearer's back. VPD molds to your body, and protects you by stiffening when force is applied to it. The sudden rigidity ultimately aids in absorbing the energy of a fall, and accordingly, you'll receive less substantial injuires. The plate uses high-density VPD down the center of the spine, as to protect the point most susceptible to injury. Low-density VPD encompasses this area, adding protection to your kidneys and shoulder blades, with it eventually thinning out on the sides to maximize movement. Ventilation holes run along the back plate for maximum air circulation throughout the vest. And to keep you clean, POC has given the Spine 2. 0 an odor-fighting polygiene treatment. For after-use cleaning, the plate is removable, and the vest is also machine washable. The material used for construction stretches to accommodate base layers, and it has a full length zipper to make getting in and out a breeze. Elastic gripper on the hem of the waist keeps the vest from creeping up, and a removable waistband allows you to dial in the fit. The POC Spine VPD 2. 0 Vest is FIS approved for skiing and is only available in the color Black. It comes in sizes Small, Medium, and Large. For women's specific sizing and construction, check out the Spine VPD 2. 0 Women's Vest.
