Salomon MTN Explore 88 Ski Salomon MTN Explore 88 Ski
The MTN Explore 88 Ski is Salomon's skinniest touring ski for long, technical mountaineering missions. Salomon's MTN Rocker shapes the ski to balance between efficient climbing and downhill performance. MTN Rocker gives a larger grip zone to assist with the skin, while the long edge initiates stable turning down sugary, dusty, or crusty couloirs. An 88mm waist keeps the ski light and nimble for navigating miles of rocky ridge traverses and steep scree fields. Salomon built the MTN Explore out of a 3D Full Wood Core with a Space Frame 2. 0 profile that removes wood from the sides in order to reduce weight without compromising stability. In face, the MTN Explore uses carbon and flax fibers to keep the ski torsionally stiff without adding much weight. This ski has a semi-sandwich construction with a capped tip and tail to add agility and reduce weight, and sidewalls at the body to enhance durability.

Salomon Mtn Explore 88 W Ski - Women's Salomon Mtn Explore 88 W Ski - Women's
Since they only weigh five pounds, the Salomon Women's Mtn Explore 88 W Ski is the type of plank you want when you're cruising mountaintops in search of tight couloirs and steep chutes. Its nimble 88mm waist keeps you nimble on the uphill and the down. The MTN Rocker's tip gently rockers above the skin track so you don't faceplant, and there's plenty of camber underfoot to bounce in and out turns when you're carving crud and hardpack. Salomon made the ski surprisingly stiff with woven stringers made of carbon and fiberglass. The oversized PulsePad keeps chatter to a minimum when you're testing out faster speeds. A five point sidecut makes sure your turns flow whether you're cruising down an open apron or maneuvering around questionable sharks.

Salomon MTN Lab Ski Salomon MTN Lab Ski
Super light touring skis may be nice on the skintrack, but more often than not, they'll leave a lot to be desired on the descent. And while plenty of skis may claim to be light and powerful, few have the pedigree of the Salomon MTN Lab Skis. The versatile design of the MTN Labs will please on both the up and down with a wide platform that effortlessly floats pow, remains manageable in variable conditions, and is still light enough to keep you on the tails of your vert-counting touring partner. The design of the MTN Lab makes no compromises in terms of downhill performance, but it still maintains a skinner-friendly 7lb 15oz per pair. You won't find a flimsy cap construction on the MTN Labs. Their full-length ABS sidewalls deliver a solid and stable feel you'd expect to find on pair of boards weighing well over nine pounds. Their full wood core paired with Salomon's CFX Superfiber carbon/flax laminate help shave weight from the ski, while keeping them damp and torsionally stiff, so you can open them up down open faces with confidence. First and foremost, the MTN Lab is designed for the backcountry, so Salomon threw in a few features to increase efficiency on the skintrack. Salomon's G-Spot technology maximizes edge hold underfoot for added security when you're side-stepping on an icy traverse, or making hop turns down a steep couloir. A honeycomb tip saves weight, helps eliminate tip chatter, and allows the skis to float deep fluff with ease. Utility Rocker puts plenty of camber underfoot for solid carving with plenty of the rocker in the tip to keep them playful in the powder.
