Salomon MTN Explore 88 Ski Salomon MTN Explore 88 Ski
The MTN Explore 88 Ski is Salomon's skinniest touring ski for long, technical mountaineering missions. Salomon's MTN Rocker shapes the ski to balance between efficient climbing and downhill performance. MTN Rocker gives a larger grip zone to assist with the skin, while the long edge initiates stable turning down sugary, dusty, or crusty couloirs. An 88mm waist keeps the ski light and nimble for navigating miles of rocky ridge traverses and steep scree fields. Salomon built the MTN Explore out of a 3D Full Wood Core with a Space Frame 2. 0 profile that removes wood from the sides in order to reduce weight without compromising stability. In face, the MTN Explore uses carbon and flax fibers to keep the ski torsionally stiff without adding much weight. This ski has a semi-sandwich construction with a capped tip and tail to add agility and reduce weight, and sidewalls at the body to enhance durability.

Salomon Mtn Explore 88 W Ski - Women's Salomon Mtn Explore 88 W Ski - Women's
Since they only weigh five pounds, the Salomon Women's Mtn Explore 88 W Ski is the type of plank you want when you're cruising mountaintops in search of tight couloirs and steep chutes. Its nimble 88mm waist keeps you nimble on the uphill and the down. The MTN Rocker's tip gently rockers above the skin track so you don't faceplant, and there's plenty of camber underfoot to bounce in and out turns when you're carving crud and hardpack. Salomon made the ski surprisingly stiff with woven stringers made of carbon and fiberglass. The oversized PulsePad keeps chatter to a minimum when you're testing out faster speeds. A five point sidecut makes sure your turns flow whether you're cruising down an open apron or maneuvering around questionable sharks.

Salomon MTN Explore 95 Ski Salomon MTN Explore 95 Ski
Long approaches' Booters up near-vertical couloirs' Survival skiing from the summit' Sounds like just another day at the office for the Salomon MTN Explore 95 Ski. Putting an emphasis on uphill efficiency, the MTN Explore 95 has a super versatile 95mm waist that's manageable on the skintrack, floats boot-top pow, and holds an edge when conditions turns dicey. Underfoot, the MTN Explores have plenty of camber for easy carving down spring corn lines and solid edge hold on boiler-plate.A generously rockered tip and raised tail keep them fun and playful on the descent, without sacrificing the edge hold you need when ticking off big descents. To keep the skis both light and torsionally stiff, the MTN Explores feature a carbon/flax laminate. A honeycomb tip shaves weight from the tip, while reducing excessive tip chatter for a damp feel once you open your turns up outside of the chute. A five-point sidecut allows for easy turn initiation and eliminates hooking. Salomon went with a semi-sandwich construction with a cap tip and tail and full ABS sidewalls underfoot--the result is a solid ski that's easy to maneuver when every turn counts.

Salomon S-Lab Minim Ski Salomon S-Lab Minim Ski
You bag peaks and count couloirs for a living, your favorite form of competition is counting verts, and as mountain biking season rolls around for your friends, you take finding remaining snow as a personal challenge. When you eat, sleep, and breath ski mountaineering, Salomon's S-Lab Minim Ski is so lightweight and minimalist, it's always your first choice in touring partner. Created with an ultra-light Karuba wood core that keeps each ski weighing a minuscule pound and half, and coming in at only 160cm (to meet competition requirements), the Minim is designed for quick ascents on distant peaks. A narrow width underfoot offers a high level of control on steep slopes and dense, wind-affected snow, while a wider nose and tip rocker will still keep you riding high on any powder you encounter. A reinforced binding zone enhances durability and edge grip in high torque-situations, with a flat tail adding further stability for downhill turns. Since getting to the top is often the focus of the game, Salomon made sure to include uphill benefits such as a race notch for securing skins, and a G-Spot engineered side cut, which maximizes edge grip underfoot for easier climbing on variable snow.
