Dalbello Sports Krypton Fusion Ski Boot Dalbello Sports Krypton Fusion Ski Boot
Sitting just behind the Krypton Pro in Dalbello's big mountain freeride line, the Krypton Fusion Men's Ski Boot throws down with the same tech and high-performance features as its slightly burlier brother, but with a more manageable 120 flex that's money for shredders looking to step their game up a notch. The 98mm last provides the same snug-fitting performance as the Krypton 2, and the Fusion has the same pre-punched Contour 4 shell fit that's designed to fit the awkward knobs on your foot comfortably, with only minimal shell fiddling. Your heel will feel more solidly locked down than it ever has, courtesy of Dalbello's legendary Dynalink Rearfoot Retention system, and the inverted forefoot buckle will wrap your foot into the bootboard rather than squeeze the shell around your toes, giving you a super-stable platform for responsiveness without pinching. Of course, the Fusion would hardly be a Dalbello if it didn't have the classic three-piece Cabrio design architecture, which uses a stiff shell and cuff for serious lateral power transmission--think bomber edging--but a progressively flexing tongue that skis equally well and comfortably whether you're putting the hammer down or cruising groomers with your little grom cousin. Bonus: the tongue helps to reduce shin bang and makes the Fusion easier to get on and off, too. Like all Dalbello freeride boots, the Fusion features a center-balanced Rocker stance, which makes it easier to ski today's big, progressively shaped skis, and lets you adjust the lean, flex, and canting so you can always have your boot dialed to perfection.

Dalbello Sports Krypton Lotus Ski Boot - Women's Dalbello Sports Krypton Lotus Ski Boot - Women's
It used to be that in order to make a women-specific boot, super-smart engineering "geniuses" would just shoot a men's boot with a shrink ray and paint it pink. Good thinking, Einsteins. Fortunately, times have changed and companies like Dalbello are giving the girls the attention they deserve with boots like the Krypton Lotus Ski boot, which is specifically formed to fit the feet of a freeriding female. To achieve this, the Lotus has a narrower, lower-volume fit than Dalbello's men's boots, with a tapered rearfoot last, higher instep, and more roomy forefoot. The low-profile cuff is designed to fit women's calves without pinching, and the Countour 4 shell accommodates anatomical contours without needing a ton of shell punches to achieve a comfortable fit. Additionally, the Lotus comes with a faux fur lined Trufit Performer liner, which is insanely comfy right out of the box. With most Dalbellos, the conversation has to include the three-piece Cabrio Design Architecture, which uses a stiff shell and cuff with a forgiving polyamide tongue to provide excellent lateral power transmission while keeping the flex soft enough for lighter skiers to effectively drive their skis, not be driven by them. The Cabrio Architecture is complemented by the Dynalink Rearfoot Retention system at the instep buckle, which uses a buckle and plastic strap anchored at the ankle on both sides of the shell, locking the foot into place without affecting the flex of the cuff, giving a consistent, progressive flex and reducing shin bang when you're skiing hard or lapping the park. Throw in a center-balance stance designed to drive fat new-school skis, along with grippy and replaceable DuraGrip heel and toe lugs, and it's easy to see that the Lotus is an all-mountain champ just for the ladies.

Dalbello Sports Lupo T.I. I.D. Ski Touring Boot Dalbello Sports Lupo T.I. I.D. Ski Touring Boot
Coming out with totally new stuff every year isn't Dalbello's M. O., because it'd rather work on perfecting what it has than trying to reinvent an already awesome wheel. Case in point: the Lupo T. I. I. D. Men's Ski Boot, which is a refined version of the SP I. D. made with lighter plastics, touring-friendly sole lugs, and alloy tech inserts so you can rally around the backcountry, uphill and down, like a squirrel that's had its tail set on fire.Dalbello knows what works, so it didn't change much between the Lupo T. I. I. D. and the SP I. D. The three-piece Cabrio design works as well for touring as it does for in-bounds schralping, with a killer combination of precision, comfort, and energy transfer, and Dalbello's legendary interchangeable tongue design lets you rock a stiff 130 flex. Unchanged too are the venerable Contour 4 Shell fit, which is anatomically designed to accommodate the weird bumps on your ankles, toes, and feet without tons of grinding and punching, and the center-balanced Rocker stance, which puts you in a more neutral position that's well-suited for riding fat, rockered skis.It did change the cuff material from PU to a lighter, stiffer polymer called dbHylite, which trims a few ounces off the SP I. D.'s weight and lets you ski the T. I. I. D. harder and faster. Different, too, are the replaceable Xtra-Grip rubber sole lugs, which have the rockered shape that works with tech bindings and frame-style alpine touring bindings, but not with traditional alpine clamps. This touring-specific design is reinforced by the boot's I. D. Max Hike wrap-style liner and burly, reliable ski/hike switch that unlocks the cuff for easy hiking and clamps down for bomber downhill performance. The T. I. I. D. also serves up Dalbello's legendary Dynalink rearfoot retention system, which pulls your heel into the pocket for a killer slop-free fit, along with a more durable inverted forefoot buckle and canting, flex, and lean adjustments that allow you to nail a near-...

Full Tilt Descendant 4 Ski Boot - Men's Full Tilt Descendant 4 Ski Boot - Men's
Full Tilt's three-piece boot design is damn near legendary, and for good reason. No other boot provides heel hold that's as solid or a flex that's as customizable, which has made Full Tilt one of the go-tos for park riders and freestyler shredders for years. You don't have to be super hardcore to enjoy Full Tilts, though--with intermediate-friendly boots like the Men's Descendant 4 Ski Boot, you can reap all the benefits of flex and lean adjustments, three-piece construction, and three-buckle design without needing to ski like Seth Morrison. The Descendant 4 has a pretty wide 102mm last but medium calf volume, so it's perfect for skiers with a reasonably beefy foot that's stuck on to a more normal-size leg. Full Tilt ships the boot with a tongue that's rated 4/10, so the flex of the boot is perfect for casual cruising, park riding, and progression, but you can pick up stiffer tongues if you're looking for a little more power. The heat-moldable Focused Intuition liner wraps around your leg for full comfort and control, and the adjustable aluminum buckles provide a highly tuneable fit. The Descendant also employs Fill Tilt's legendary three-buckle design, which pulls your heel into the pocket to prevent slipping and increase control. It also sports replaceable heel and toe lugs, so you don't have to worry about scuffing your boots down to nothing after seasons of parking lot walks, stair climbs, and rock scrambles.

Full Tilt Descendant 6 Ski Boot Full Tilt Descendant 6 Ski Boot
We all know that guy that swears by his Full Tilts and doesn't shy away from singing their praises to everyone he meets on the chairlift. But for those of us who have a foot shaped better for swimming than skiing, the narrow 99mm last found on most boots is enough to make your bone spurs cringe and toes instinctively curl up on each other. If the cost of your toe nails has hardly seemed worth the price of the progressive forward flex, customizable stiffness, and boot-bang free performance a pair of Full Tilts offer, then step your wide footed self into the Full Tilt Men's Descendant 6 Ski Boot and let your toes roam free as you stomp big lines, jumps, and jib just about every feature you encounter. The Descendant is a Full Tilt, so you'll find all the features that have allowed the company to achieve legend status over the years. The boot has that Full Tilt three-piece shell with a medium flex tongue attached. The shock absorbing foot board helps to absorb vibrations when you're skiing fast on variable snow and will cushion big impacts when you stomp landings on packed-out transitions. The ribbed tongue bends, so you'll never bottom the boot out, or suffer from shin-bang after a big landing. Three micro-adjustable buckles let you fasten the boots down as tight as you need to ski as aggressively as you want, while a large power strap keeps the boot responsive and snug. The liner is made with Intuition foam, so it can be heat-molded to better fit the shape of your foot, while an additional layer of high-density closed cell foam is placed along the outside of the cuff of the liner to drive energy more efficiently to the shell for even more performance. Whew, if that sounds like a lot, then that's probably because it is, but your boots are the most important component in your setup, so they probably shouldn't skimp on features.

Full Tilt Descendant 8 Ski Boot Full Tilt Descendant 8 Ski Boot
Lets face it--being the descendant of a long line of boots that ski as hard and are as famously comfortable as Full Tilts puts a lot of expectations on any new generation of boots that might come down the line. And while the Full Tilt Men's Descendant 8 Ski Boots may be a whole new build for Full Tilt, they still have the pedigree of a tried and true Full Tilt, so you can bet your beer money that they'll provide the same infinite flex, top-shelf comfort, and customizable flex of the old standbys in the Full Tilt line. The Descendant is an all-new build for Full Tilt and has been rebuilt from the ground up. The newly designed Evolution Shell weaves the same components of traditional Full Tilt boots with with a wider last, dual material soles, and a re-worked buckle system, so you get the same performance you've come to expect from Full Tilt, without having to cram your wide foot in a pair of narrow boots. Full Tilt knows the best way to ruin a good thing is by changing it, so you'll find the same free flexing cuff that won't bottom out on you, as well as the same customizable flex, which allows you to adjust the stiffness of the boot to better suit temperature, snow conditions, or what kind of skiing you're planning on doing. The shock absorbing boot board remains intact with a shock-absorbing layer of rubber integrated into the sole of the shell for an always smooth ride. The Descendant keeps the same Quick Fit liners that can be heat molded, but also use multiple densities of foam to offer supreme comfort and better responsiveness where you need it most.

Full Tilt Plush 6 Ski Boot - Women's Full Tilt Plush 6 Ski Boot - Women's
Plush isn't a word you would use to describe your ski boots. If stiff, painful, and miserable are the kind of adjectives you use to describe your boots, then it might be time for you step into a pair of Full Tilt Women's Plush 6 Ski Boots. We've all heard of Full Tilt's customizable flex, forward-flexing ribbed tongue, and innovative three-piece shell, but what you probably don't know is that Full Tilt is producing boots to accommodate wider feet, so you don't have to try and cram your flipper-footed self into a narrow 99mm lasted boot, just to get the performance of a Full Tilt boot. In fact, the Plush 6 comes with a spacious 102mm last, giving your toes plenty of wiggle room while maintaining all the same performance features we've all come to expect from Full Tilt. The boot comes with Full Tilt's medium flex tongue, but it can be fitted with stiffer or softer tongues (sold separate), depending on what you want from the boot. The free flexing cuff and ribbed tongue are designed to never bottom out, so you won't have to deal with day-ending shin-bang after a big landing, and the shock absorbing foot board works to keep the soles of your feet happy after stomping big landings and skiing on chunder and boilerplate. Full Tilt threw in its Quick Fit Liner that can be molded over time by the heat of your feet, or heat-molded by a shop for an instantly precise fit. And since the liner is designed by Full Tilt, it's specifically designed to work with the shell to optimize performance with varying amounts of foam used throughout the liner to maximize warmth, responsiveness, and an overall better fit and feel from the boot as a whole.

Head Skis USA Vector Evo 110 Ski Boot - Women's Head Skis USA Vector Evo 110 Ski Boot - Women's
Be the first one down the mountain and the last one to leave for the day with the Head Women's Vector Evo 110 Ski Boot. With a stiff flex and foot-hugging Spine-Flex buckles, this boot would rather skip the mid-day cocoa break in favor of back-to-back hot laps down steep double blacks.Head rigged the Vector Evo with all of its performance-boosting technologies, resulting in a boot that thrives all over the mountain. The 110 flex index is stiff and responsive, while the sturdy aluminum Spine-Flex buckles and 40mm power strap provide a strong closure while eliminating any uncomfortable pressure points from forming. Head's new EVO frame is designed to direct energy towards the rear of the shell, resulting in a more powerful and comfortable feel. This technology leaves the forefoot free of mechanical stress, without compromising sensitivity or responsiveness while skiing. If that wasn't enough, Head added its Perfect Fit shell, which can be heat molded for a precise fit around your foot, then it equipped the Vector Evo with its Women's EVO Perfect Fit HD liner, which can also be heat molded, resulting in a shell and liner that cradle your foot in comfort all day.

K2 Minaret 100 Ski Boot - Women's K2 Minaret 100 Ski Boot - Women's
Switching between skis as conditions and objectives change is nice. Switching between boots isn't quite as great, especially when your feet have made a cozy little niche for themselves in your go-to boots. Luckily for your feet, K2 has built the Women's Minaret 100 Ski Boot to do it all, so you can wear the same pair of boots when you take your lightweight touring set up out to the backcountry, load up your mid-fats for a little all-mountain slaying.Modeled after the K2 Pinnacle, the Minaret houses all of the same features, but sports a roomier 100mm last and medium flex for a more forgiving feel. It utilizes the same Synchro Interlock walk mode as the Pinnacle, which forgoes rivets in favor of an interlocking wedge and V-lock mechanism to lock the shell and cuff together once the boot is in ski mode, eliminating play. Adding to the overall stiffness of the boot is the Powerfuse Spyne, which extends from the cuff to the shell to deliver a more responsive and confidence-inspiring feel during the descent. The Minaret comes ready to step into just about any binding you might own with a DIN-compatible sole attached and tech fittings installed. K2 also offers a lugged Vibram sole (sold separately) if you're planning on spending a lot of time in the backountry.

K2 Spyne 130 Ski Boot K2 Spyne 130 Ski Boot
You love your old boots, but their liners are beyond packed out, their buckles are barely hanging in there, and what used to be a stiff 130 flex is starting to feel more like a squishy 90. It's time for an upgrade and K2 has joined the boot making game since the last time you were in the market for a new boot, so you can expect good things. Sitting at the top of K2's line of big mountain freeride boots, the Men's Spyne 130 Ski Boot is its most hard-charging offering with a stiff 130 flex, progressive fore and aft flex, and lasted Intuition Precisionfit liner. K2 has expanded its offering this season by offering the Spyne in three different last widths. This particular version of the Spyne sports a medium-wide last of 100mm.The Spyne incorporates much of the same technologies you'd expect to find on a high-end boot: four micro-adjustable buckles, a cinchable power strap, adjustable canting, and an adjustable forward lean, but where the Spyne really differs is with what K2 calls its E3 design philosophy. The E3 design philosophy combines a carbon-infused spine that runs down the back of the cuff to the heel of the shell to add an extra bit of rigidity to the boot--the carbon spine allows for less material to be used in the shell and cuff, resulting in a lighter boot that's also easier to work with in the shop. In addition to the Powerfuse Spyne, K2 also developed a connection between the shell and cuff by eliminating the use of rivets. The interlocking connection not only allows the boot to flex forward more naturally, but it puts less stress on the rest of the boot and offers a smoother ride as a result.

Nordica GPX 105 Ski Boot - Women's Nordica GPX 105 Ski Boot - Women's
While that collection of high-heeled chukkas and leopard print wedges may say, "I enjoy putting my feet into vastly uncomfortable positions for more than eight hours at a time," but the Nordica Women's Belle Pro 105 Ski Boot speaks otherwise. Crafted to not just secure your foot for a good ride, but to also provide ski-boot-quality-comfort and support, the Belle Pro 105 has a sturdy 105 flex and 98mm last, making it the dreamiest boot on the market. It comes with a women-specific GPX Primaloft liner, which features Primaloft insulation to keep the chill off your toes, and a Precision Fit Primaloft TF footbed to keep your sole insulated and supported. Molding a liner is also a splendid way to ensure a snug fit that will boost performance but not cut off circulation, so you can enjoy a precise fit that doesn't leave your feet screaming in pain after a few runs. The Belle Pro 105 also features Nordica's Weather Shield technology, which employs waterproof features in all the key gaps, like the front overlap, to make sure snow and slush don't find their way through the shell and into your socks. The Belle can ski, too, with a high-performance hinge that gives the boot more snap and edge-to-edge quickness and women-specific cuff that fits ladies' calves snugly for better feedback and less boot bang. Nordica also gave it replaceable dual-density PU soles for traction on icy staircases and slippery parking lots and built in flex and canting adjustments to let you find the perfect fit.

Rossignol AllSpeed 130 Ski Boot Rossignol AllSpeed 130 Ski Boot
Exploring secret zones, poking through tight trees, and billygoating around rocks is fun, but you know what else is fun' Going so fast that your eyes pop into the back of your skull, your lips peel off your face, and you actually get to the bottom before you left the top. That's what Rossignol's AllSpeed 130 Ski Boot is all about. Made with Rossignol's weight-saving and power-boosting Sensor Blade shell, the AllSpeed boasts a burly 130 flex, so you can drive it as hard as you want without worrying about flexing through the front of the boot and losing control at an inopportune time. It also has flex adjustment screws at the spine, so you can soften it up slightly if you prefer, and canting adjustments to bring your feet, ankles, and knees into perfect alignment. While the AllSpeed's a powerful boot, it's by no means foot crushing. With a wide 102mm last, it's a good choice for skiers with wider feet, so you don't have to feel like fitting your dogs into your boots is an act that should be outlawed by the Geneva Convention. Even better, the OptiSensor T2 liner is fully customizable, with special blowout zones around the ankle bones for increased comfort, and decked out with Thinsulate insulation to prevent your toes from turning into flesh-flavored popsicles. Rossignol finished the AllSpeed off with four micro-adjustable buckles and a burly 50mm powerstrap for improved fit and power, and also included soles that can be removed and replaced with rockered WTR soles if you're looking for improved walking performance.

Rossignol AllSpeed Elite 130 Ski Boot Rossignol AllSpeed Elite 130 Ski Boot
Instead of letting the mountain toss you around, put on the Rossignol AllSpeed Elite 130 Ski Boot and drive your skis down everything from pristine corduroy in the morning to bumped-out steeps in the afternoon. With a stiff and powerful 130 flex, narrow last, and race-inspired fit, the AllSpeed Elite is built for the expert skier who sends just about every run the mountain can muster.Rossignol expanded its offerings in the AllSpeed line with flexes and lasts for just about every level of skier, but with a 98mm last and super stiff flex, it's safe to say that the AllSpeed Elite sits at the top of the line with design that points to one thing--performance. The four micro-adjustable buckles and cam-locking power strap ensure a rigid and powerful fit from the boot, while the power wrap liner and tongue only bolster the boot's already powerful nature. The new Sensor blade shell technology eliminates extra material through ridged spines on the shell that help to save weight, while directing power directly to the ski for powerful, performance-driven feel. The soles are interchangeable and can be fitted with WTR (walk-to-ride) technology for when you're spending a lot of time on the boot pack. The AllSpeed Elite comes with Rossignol's anatomically designed Custom Optisensor liner. The liner can be customized to ensure a secure and comfortable fit that will keep your feet happy from first to last chair. A thinsulate lining offers low-bulk warmth that helps to keep your feet warm when you're waiting in the lift line or riding chairs, but doesn't compromise the performance of the boot in the process. If conditions warrant a softer feel from the boot, the flex can be dialed back a bit for a more forgiving feel, and the canting can be adjusted to fit your preferred stance.

Salomon X Max 110 Ski Boot - Women's Salomon X Max 110 Ski Boot - Women's
Customizable boots have a reputation as being seriously comfortable, and they are. A total custom fit doesn't get as much credit for helping make your skiing better, though, which is exactly what it does--just try the Salomon X Max 110 Women's Ski Boot if you need proof. Not only does it boast a fully customizable liner, but the shell itself is made of Salomon's heat-moldable 360 Custom Shell material, which can be formed to your foot to provide space where you need it, eliminate it where you don't, and help improve the power and precision of your skiing. The moldable shell is made of bi-material polyurethane, and features fully customizable panels around the ankle, shin, instep, and upper foot, so you can dial in a fit that conforms to the funky shapes of your feet without any aggravating punching or grinding. It's also easy to mold the My Custom Fit 3D Race women-specific liner, so you can dial down a fully personalized fit that improves your downhill performance while helping to keep your feet locked down and comfortable even in tough terrain. Salomon also designed the X Max with a short cuff to better accommodate women's calves, and included a cuff-adjustment screw that can provide some extra volume to better fit ladies with wide lower legs. Crushing the comfort aspect of a boot is undoubtedly a good thing, but prioritizing it over performance isn't really the right call. There are no such worries with the X Max, which uses Salomon's Oversized Pivot--the pivot is the spot where the shell and cuff are joined--to keep the boot laterally stiff, which is key when you're trying to roll wide powder skis edge to edge. The wide power strap lets you reduce the volume and batten down the hatches when you start skiing more aggressively, and the micro-adjustable buckles cinch your foot down into the bootboard for killer control with zero slop.

Tecnica Mach1 130 LV Boots Tecnica Mach1 130 LV Boots
There's no point in beating around the bush: the Tecnica Mach1 130 LV Men's Ski Boot is a hard-charging, take-no-prisoners, race-bred freeride boot that's not particularly interested in slowing down, taking it easy, or just cruising. In addition to a burly 130 flex, well-defined heel pockets, taller cuffs, and pre-punched navicular areas, the Mach1 boasts the same 98mm last and easy on/off Quick-Instep Max overlap construction featured on Tecnica's World-Cup-conquering Inferno boots. This construction is key, since it makes the Mach1 perfect for lower-volume feet (hence the LV) or even more precise for skiers who are looking for the ultimate performance fit. The sculpted polyether shell provides a snugly confident fit around the foot, while the stiff polyester cuff gives the power to conquer big lines and big drops at high speed without worrying about feeling loose, soft, or wobbly in your boots. Tecnica designed the Custom Adaptive Shape (C. A. S.) UltraFit Pro Race liner to exactly match the contours of the shell, giving you a seriously precise and powerful out-of-the-box fit that won't pack out after half a season like traditional liners tend to do. The LV uses a thinner and more responsive liner than the classic Mach1 for more sensitivity and less chance that it will pack out and get sloppy. The C. A. S. liner is also designed to be heat molded for a fine-tuned fit, giving you the ability to rip in comfort from the first chair to the last run. A fat 45mm power strap lets you cinch everything down for snug and powerful feel, and the Mach1's subtle canting and flex adjustments give you the ability to dial your stance. When the TechniGrip soles wear out, you can replace them for more grip and surer binding release and retention, or you can swap them out for a full-length pre-canted sole to address any alignment problems you're having. If you like to push your skiing and need a boot that can keep up, the Mach1 130 LV is a pretty damn good bet.

Tecnica Ten.2 120 HV Ski Boot Tecnica Ten.2 120 HV Ski Boot
Some of us are born with big heads, some with huge ears, and others with giant, yeti-sized feet that just don't fit into ski boots. If you fall into the latter category, Tecnica feels your pain and has a boot just for you, my Sasquatch-pawed friend: the 106mm-lasted Ten. 2 120 H. V. L., designed for those who are tired of suffering the pain of boot-inflicted foot-binding. The H. V. (High Volume) last, which checks in at a burly 120 flex, is a full 6mm wider than Tecnica's standard men's last, which may not sound like a lot, but it's a big difference when you consider that the variation between its top-end race and standard all-mountain lasts is only 2mm. Quick Instep, a soft plastic panel molded to the instep of boot, allows the tongue to open fully when pulling the H. V. L on and off, eliminating the hellacious struggle that can leave you exhausted and wanting to go home first thing in the morning, and a pull strap on the tongue gives you all the leverage you need to make entry and exit a breeze. The upper buckles on the H. V. L feature three-position adjustment, offering 44mm of fit customization that will conform to any leg shape and work in cooperation with the adjustable dual-rivet cuff alignment, allowing you to fine-tune the fit to suit your preferred stance. There's an adjustable rear spoiler, too, that can help you stay forward or ride more upright, and can even be entirely removed to make room for extra-wide calves. If all this doesn't sound comfortable enough, Tecnica also included a UF HV heat-moldable liner for increased customization, an anatomic footbed for cushioned support, and a bi-material sole that helps you stay upright on icy ground and slippery staircases.
