FOX Racing Shox 36 Float 27.5 150 3Pos-Adj FIT4 Boost Fork description:
It's hard to imagine the suspension gurus at FOX improving upon the legacy of their 36 Float Fork, seeing its unbelievable success in the world of enduro racing and aggressive all-mountain riding. However, after seeing the integration of EVOL technology into their 36 Float's air spring, we'd be hard pressed to doubt their motives. EVOL technology is borrowed form FOX rear shocks, increasing the negative air spring volume for greater sensitivity to small bumps at the top of its stroke. Impressively stiff 36-millimeter stanchions work to deflect torsional forces from bucking you silly when you're smashing across rock gardens, launching A-line hits at the park, and dropping into freakishly steep lines. These stanchions employ FOX's Kashima coating for heightened sensitivity to small-bumps, as well as greater durability when you're thrashing your bike on a regular basis. The Fit4 damper uses a slightly revised tune with a reconfigured shim stack making it all the more sensitive to light inputs and small bumps. Another benefit to this reconfiguration, FOX eliminated a seal to make volume spacer swapping quicker and easier than before. This is a great feature, as riders of 36 Float Forks generally desire to increase the overall progressiveness of the fork's travel, especially for bigger hits in the park and rowdy descents on notoriously steep terrain. This particular 36 Float enjoys the 3-position adjustability of its Fit4 damper, which gives you the option of running it Open, Medium, or Firm. In Open mode, you'll find 22 clicks of low-speed compression damping, which is great for dialing in its feel to your exact riding preferences and local terrain at hand. Medium gives you more efficiency on smoother trails and long climbs where firming up the front end is warranted. Firm acts as a practical lock-out, complete with a blow-off, which prevents damage in case you forget to unlock it on the trail.
