Mammut Mt. Crest GTX Boot - Men's customer reviews: No Wrong here I will say these boots are a make-over of the GTX by Raichle and they are wonderful. Easy on the feel and rugged. If 1 year makes it not a deal then the backcountry 100% customer satisfaction should make it very appealing! Loved them before, hope Mammut doesn't change them I've had four pairs of these first as Raichle's REI-branded, then Raichle-branded. Only one pair has experienced failure when the sole came off after only 500 miles. They're the only boot that don't tear up my wide feet. Warm and Dry Took these out for three days snowshoeing in the Tahoe backcountry and my feet stayed warm and dry the whole time. Still breaking in, but usable after 20 miles and only getting more comfortable. No complaints here. mammut, raichle, rei spirit III....same boot. these are excellent boots. great reviews because they're great boots. high quality leather and craftsmanship. rei had a copy of these boots, that look identical too these called the rei spirit III. raichle also had one just like these. all the same design and tread. definitely recommended. still hopefull nicely made boot. its been several weeks a hundred miles and they are still giving me heel blisters. i'm going to give them a few more day hikes and then in to the cobbler. boot must be heavily snow sealed to prevent water infiltration at needle holes. great support. still hopefull that they will work out.
