Fox River’s New X-Static® Product Line

Now, get natural antimicrobial protection from your socks Try Fox River’s new X-Static® product line featuring silver-coated nylon.

January 1999

Take the natural approach to eliminating foot odor by wearing X-Static® athletic and X-Static® outdoor socks, as well as X-Static® Liner socks and gloves, new from Fox River Mills. For customers who are troubled by the problems associated with perspiration against the skin, Fox River’s new X-Static® line is a natural solution.

Up to now, foot odor was treated by keeping feet dry and clean. Not always possible if you’re even moderately active. Finally, there’s a natural solution that’s as simple as putting on a sock. Fox River’s X-Static® socks are made with X-Static® silver-coated nylon to inhibit the bacteria and fungi that cause foot odor and other foot problems, such as Athlete’s Foot.

10 years of testing and research by institutions such as Penn State University, Cornell University, New York University and the U.S. Army have verified X-Static®’s antibacterial and antifungal performance. Field testers have reported their previously rank feet are not only odor-free, but also feel refreshed as a result of wearing these socks.

X-Static® socks eliminate foot odor, inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi, transfer heat away from the foot, and are anti-static. Silver is the best antimicrobial agent available today and X-Static® is the only fiber certified by the EPA under the new, more stringent guidelines.

“Another advantage of X-Static® is that it is NOT a chemical pesticide,” says Gene Oeschger, executive vice president, Fox River Mills. “Many people are uncomfortable about wearing a chemical pesticide against their skin. And chemically treated fibers tend to wash off before the socks wear out.”

X-Static® is a natural antimicrobial whose performance—according to the makers of X-Static®, Noble Medical Technologies—is enhanced by washing because silver ions are released in the presence of water.

Fox River Mills’ new X-Static® product line include two athletic styles in color white/silver: the #1101 Cobalt, a medium weight, mid-length crew with 78% hi-bulk acrylic, 12% stretch nylon, 5% X-Static® nylon through foot area, 3% Lycra® and 2% elastic in top.
