Nema Tranz
By James Sharp

Nema Tranz Jersey

Cycling clothing is more about function than style. Face it, lycra shorts don't exist because the people wearing them look good in them. Often, when you look for style among mainstream cycling clothing manufacturers you get loud graphics. We've reviewed clothing from Nema in the past and their baggy shorts are some of the best. The same can be said for their jerseys; they fit well and function beautifully. They are also some of the most subdued color schemes out there. They look good with almost any shorts. When Nema decided to throw some style in the mix, they didn't just silk screen an image on and already good jersey and call it good. They made the Tranz.

Like any good jersey, the $49.99 Tranz is made of a wicking fabric, in this case it's Nema's Translink fabric. The Tranz also features rear venting at the shoulders. However, this is a button down... er, rather a "snap down", if you will, complete with a left lapel pocket--don't keep your house key there while riding off-road, trust me on this one--and full length snaps down the front.

The combination of the classic short sleeve button down and jersey functionality make this the perfect commuting jersey. Go ahead; stop at the store on your way home, other than the clicking of your spd cleats you'll look like a normal person. Show up to a club ride in style, or wear the Tranz on a Saturday night on the town.

Summary: From the moment the Tranz arrived here at GearReview.com, it became a favorite. The durability of the Tranz has been like any other Nema garment, fantastic. The material hasn't pilled or shown any wear at all, and that is after many, many washings. Tired of wearing the same three-pockets-out-back-and-a-zipper-up-front jerseys? Get a Tranz; have some style.
