Gramicci Jam Shorts
By Rhett Olson
From the leader in no nonsense outdoor clothing comes the Gramicci Jam Short.
The Jam is an all cotton short with an 11 inch inseam. Testers loved the
gusset crotch because it allows the legs a greater freedom of movement.
While climbing, many testers noticed that other shorts would pull as they
spread their legs to reach for a new foot position while the Jams did not.
GearReview.com testers said the Jams have become their favorite pair of shorts
because of their sheer versatility. Steve takes his on every hike he does.
Because of an elastic waistband with a sewn-in webbing belt, there is
no need for other conventional belts. This makes wearing a backpack much
more comfortable because you can keep your shorts up with minimal bunching
beneath the hip belt.
Although the Jams are great for hiking, they are best known for their place
among the climbing community. Their comfort and range of motion make them
the perfect choice for climbers. Testers really liked how the webbing
belt was exposed from the short's waist. This allowed them to clip their
chalk bag to their shorts.
Beyond hiking and climbing, I wear the Jams just about everywhere. In
fact if I'm wearing shorts, they're Gramicci. Their durability is second
to none.
Retails at around $32.
