Nema Creeper LS Jersey
By James Sharp

Creeper LS

Fall and spring weather can present unique challenges for cyclists. Depending on when you start your ride, it can either get warmer or it can turn cold. Clearly the key to comfort lies in layering, but what about one shirt or jersey that can handle these changes? Something that is comfortable in 65o sun as well as 50o shade? Enter the Creeper LS from Nema.

The Creeper LS is merely a long sleeve version of their Creeper summer jersey. It's a casual jersey that is feature rich. There is no elastic at the waist, so the fit is relaxed and loose. Nema calls the material trans-link polyester, a lightweight wicking fabric that breathes remarkable well. The jersey has hidden vents under both arms and zippered hidden pockets on the sides. The pockets are perfect for keys or eye drops or even a small multi tool. Because they are on the sides they are easy to access and don't interfere with a hydration pack. The Creeper LS also has a zippered front.

I found this jersey to be one of those "gap filling" clothes. It bridges the gap between full summer and full winter jerseys or jackets. By using a long-sleeved undershirt with it I have used it comfortably down to 40o, I have used it colder but not comfortably. It packs pretty small, so I have carried with me on rides that start out warm and go cold.

The major benefit of the trans-link material is that even after sweating during a climb, you aren't soaked at the top. In colder weather this is very important, I can't tell you how many times I have dressed warm, only to shiver while resting at the top of the climb because my jersey or shirt was soaked with sweat.

Summery: At $50 the Creeper LS fits most budgets. It is the type of jersey that should reside in any wardrobe. It is versatile, functional and oh so stylish. Throw it in your pack, just in case, or start out with it and shed it later. Or, wear it alone and cover most temperature changes on the ride going up and going back down. Either way, Nema's got you covered with the Creeper LS.
