Review of Columbia Girls Snow Star Jacket
By Matt Smith

One of the more difficult things I deal with as an "Outdoor Parent" is trying to find good stuff for my kids. You can't just walk into you local big box department store and pick up a 3T quickdrying pant set, synthetic socks, and WB Shell. Columbia has been making quality kids outerwear for years. Apparently, many of the other manufacturer's are envious of Columbia's hold, because at this years Winter Outdoor Retailer Show, several of the other higher end companies are sporting youth or kids lines.

The Snow Star features everything you have become acustomed to from a Columbia Jacket, including a stowable hood, and removable liner. The Snow Star jacket is just what my daughter wants. It is pink, cute, and warm, but not too frilly, or covered with cartoon characters. The stylish and attractive quilted pattern on the liner is her favorite part. As a parent, the Snow Star is exactly what I want. It has quality construction with good fabrics. It actually kept my daugther warm and dry, even on very cold days on Daniel's Summit, or wet ski days at The Canyons Resort.

Summary: The Snow Star Jacket is a nice, functional kids jacket that has my daugters fashion sense covered, and still provides me with piece of mind that she will be comfortable when the elements conspire. If you watch the net, you can pick up the Snow Star for around $80.

A special thanks to the folks at The Canyons Resort who set us up to test the Columbia Snow Star Jacket on site. You can learn more about the The Canyons Resort, and our other industry partners on our Partners Page.
