B.O.B. Revolution Duallie Stroller Review
By Matt Smith

In the past, I have reviewed several strollers. Last year we looked at the B.O.B. Duallie. It was a great stroller, especially when packing two kids. Unfortunately, some of the inherent downsides to "jogging" strollers are magnified when you make it a double wide. Among the most difficult to deal with is turning around when having to lift two kids, plus all their baby gear into the air. The Revolution series of B.O.B. strollers adds a swiveling front wheel. This makes turning a snap.

Several upgrades have been made across all models since we tested the Duallie. The double canopy makes it even easier to deal with providing sun or light rain protection for each child individually. B.O.B. has retained the very low canopy, which makes it superior to any other stroller we have ever tested to keeping the sun out of your child's eyes early in the morning or late in the afternoon.

Retained is the ability to recline each seat individually, for those times when you have a sleeping or tired child, and a rambunctious one at the same time. Of course, every parent knows that never happens. Plus the new 2007 version features an extended recline, up to 70 degrees from vertical. It seemed to me like the storage basket is both smaller, and closer to the seat bottom than in previous versions. This made it somewhat cumbersome to get larger diaper bags or book bags into the basket.

As we observed in our original review, "The Duallie features the unique BOB suspension system which provides up to 3 inches of travel to cushion your children when rolling along packed trails, over curbs, or gently bouncing it to keep the little one asleep. With all these features, it might cross your mind that the Duallie could be a hassle to fold. It isn't. Quick release levers under the handle fold the top down, at which point the Duallie can easily roll into the back of a full size SUV like a Yukon or Expedition. A quick snap of the suspension cartridges, and the wheels fold under so the Duallie can fit in a mini-van, sedan, or simply take up less space in your garage." The Revolution Duallie features these same great features.

The only feature that was not present that I really missed from that standard Duallie was a hand brake. We have several trails that meander along hills and slopes. With the stroller full of kids and their stuff, slowing the stroller when going down hill was bothersome and tiring. It is understandable that with the swiveling front wheel, keeping the brake there would be difficult, however, with the price point, it would seem that a rear disc brake could easily be included without adding width to the stroller.

Summary: Though the MSRP of $529 is steep, there is no question about the quality of the product. The Revolution Duallie will certainly outlast your children, so if you can spare the expense, and want the best, definitely look at the B.O.B line of strollers.
